To You They Are Birds, to Me They Are Voices in the Forest — Song by Sleepmakeswaves

I Have Been Fascinated by Birds From My Earliest Childhood Days
I have been fascinated by birds from my earliest childhood days.
My grandmother knew of my love for birds and retrieved a abandoned bird nest for me at a young age. Today I still have that nest as a reminder of both birds and my grandmother.
Growing up in the bay area years ago, there were lots of trees and in those trees lots of birds. Not the case today as the volume of homes have increased over the years the volume of trees decreased and the bird population has diminished.
Today I live in Northern California where the trees are everywhere and so are the birds. Of late on morning walks with the dog the birds are in conversations with each other spanning blocks. I talk to the bird and believe they are talking back to me personally.
Christopher Heckscher realized these songbirds knew when a bad hurricane season was coming, after studying veeries for two decades.
The Great Basin Bristlecone pines are an extremely rare species found only in California, Nevada and Utah.
There is a tree in this forest named, yes named Methuselah believed to be almost 5,000 years old.
I would encourage everyone to stop, listen to the birds and maybe even listen to the trees they have a thing or two to share, some of the older ones.
