Life Is a Series of Balancing and Steps as We Move Forward

There have been many times in my life that required me to listen to my gut feeling when I heard “Don’t Stay Here.”

Three different times that come to mind were in one a relationship, two a job, and three living in a town.

Each began in a happy state of mind, but after some period the happiness durned in to unhappiness.

Relationship

The relationship was new and started out wonderful. At about the thirty-month mark, the other person was interested in other people. This rude awaking ended the relationship quickly. The hard part was by then we had a two-year-old. The remedy required legal actions in order to come to terms. I knew I could not continue in the relations under the new discovery. She did not want to stay in the relationship either, so we moved on and lived our individual lives.

Job

I took a job, and we moved to another state, sold our home, purchased a new home and got settled in. Company paid for the moving and associated moving expenses. Settle in to the new area and job. All was going along so well, but then I was not treated fairly, followed by the company covering up of the mistreatment. I continued and stayed for about nine months, but that same gut feeling told me it was time to move on. I gave my two-week notice and was out of there. Relieved and happy again.

Town

In 2010 we moved to Northern Nevada for a change of climate and town size. The beginning seemed wonderful. We liked the weather, but as weather but seemed much different from what we expected. We discovered we were going to be happy in the long term and that same gut feeling showing it was time to move.

Conclusion

Today I am in a lasting relationship that has lasted thirty years and counting. I am retired today and live in a town that we are ecstatic about living in for both the weather and amenities.

When your gut says “Don’t stay there” listen and consider. If you need to seek the counsel from someone, make it a close friend who really knows you for help.

Cheers!!
